PRELIMINARY
SAT/NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING TEST:
The Preliminary SAT/National
Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) will be administered to all
sophomores and juniors on Wednesday, October 17th. Please
refer to the student guide that was distributed in the auditorium during your
class assembly. The fee for the test is $13, which will be collected during
homeroom on Monday, October 15th and Tuesday October 16th.
Please pay by check or money order payable to Holy Cross High School. Please
note that there are no makeups for this test.
The College Board website (collegeboard.com) is
offering an online SAT preparation course.
Students will receive 18 interactive lessons, six official practice
tests, 600+ practice questions, answer explanations for every question, and
immediate scoring of the essay. The
course is flexible and allows students to use the program at home, school, or
wherever they have a computer.

NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA FALL COLLEGE FAIR:
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Fall College Fair will be held tomorrow evening at the Mellow Center for Athletics and Wellness on the Campus of Marywood University. Over one hundred colleges and universities have been invited to participate and will be available beginning at 7:00 PM. Presentations regarding Getting Into College: What Every Candidate Needs to Know and Federal & State Financial Aid Programs will begin at 6:00 PM in the Nazareth Student Center.
