THE UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON:

The University of Scranton has announced that the requirement of reporting standardized test scores is now optional for students who have excelled in high school and are applying for undergraduate admission for the fall of 2008. Students must rank in the top 20% of their class and cannot be applying for the doctor of physical therapy guaranteed seat, nursing or occupational therapy programs. For students choosing this option the admissions committee considers the rigor of the high school curriculum, performance in that program, class rank, letter(s) of recommendation, two graded papers, extracurricular activities, community service, a personal statement and possibly an interview. The University encourages students who score a total of 1000 or better on the math and critical reading sections of the SAT to submit those scores when they apply. Failure to do so will take the student out of consideration for a Dean’s or Presidential scholarship.
